Design Artist Citizen Site: Exploring Belonging

This summer I will be part of the exhibition Design Artist Citizen Site: Exploring Belongingwhich is a response from 20 students of the School of the Art Institution, to the topics of the American Pavillion (Dimensions of Citizenship) at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale. Project: Tejo: an Untranslatable Cultural Paradox | Opening: May 24, Cultural Flow Zone, Università Ca’Foscari, Venice, Italy. Organizers: Ann Lui and Iker Gil. 

The exhibition was coordinated by Heidi Metcalf (MArch 2019) and includes works by Adnan Faysal Altunbozar (MFA 2019), Tizzie Maria Baldenebro (MArch 2019), Cat Rose Bluemke (MFA 2018), Mary Nadia Do (BFA 2018), Andrea Hunt (MArch 2019), Ashley Margaret Hooker Jons (MArch 2019), Junxi Lu (BFA 2018), Lanye Luo (BFA 2018), Kathia Marie Muniz-Rios (MFA 2018), Axel Alexander Olson (BFA 2018), Alberto Ortega Trejo (MFA 2019), Meera Rampalli (MA 2019), Xavier Robles Armas (MFA 2019), Daniel Salamanca (MFA 2019), John Alexander Stevens (MA 2018), Kekeli Kodzo Sumah (MArch 2019), Vince Tong (MArch 2019), Karen Wang (BFA 2019), Raven Xu (BFA 2018), and Tinglei Zhang (MArch 2019).

Gabinete 13

Lokkus presenta la segunda exposición del año, Gabinete 13, evocando la idea de los gabinetes de curiosidades que dieron inicio a la historia del coleccionismo. 

Los artistas participantes son: María Teresa Cano (Medellín, 1960) Mauricio Esquivel (El Salvador, 1983) Nicolás Gómez E. (Bogotá, 1984), Juan David Henao (Medellín, 1987), Walterio Iraheta (El Salvador, 1968), John Mario Ortiz (Medellín, 1973), Abigail Reyes (El Salvador, 1984), Daniel Salamanca (Bogotá, 1983), Daniela Serna (Medellín, 1991), Aníbal Vallejo (Medellín, 1975), Simón Vega (El Salvador, 1972), José Ignacio Vélez (Medellín, 1959) y Santiago Vélez (Medellín, 1972). 

La curaduría estuvo a cargo de Érika Martínez Cuervo, Directora artística de Lokkus desde 2017, quien a partir de conversaciones con los artistas seleccionó las piezas, bajo el criterio de que cada obra fuese un indicio relevante del cuerpo de trabajo de cada uno de los artistas

DYS/FUNCTIONAL furniture

I´ll be part of a group exhibition defining furniture in the broadest sense. Not only creating a space for contemplation and conversation, but also for a multi-sensory experience.

Piece: The Time Stair, from the project Ver un día pasar.
